Seven Days with You
by Hugo Driscoll
GENRE: YA Romance
Sophia is the first person who understands him and makes him believe that he might get out of their small town, who tells him, he has the potential to be whoever he wants to be and do whatever he wants to do.
But as their relationship unfolds, it is the most devastating of news that will change both of them forever.
Her face was nearer than it had ever been. Her skin felt smooth and warm. All I could do was lean further into her, losing myself in the moment. And then there were her piercing blue eyes-even more extraordinary up close. Before I knew it, I’d brought my hands to her chest as our parting lips collided. We kissed for hours, inhabiting each other with such force as our bodies rolled across the cooled grass. She was the change I had been searching for. It was the first time I realized; I could be anywhere in the world, but nowhere without her.
Do you ever wish you were someone else? Who?
Occasionally, delusions of grandeur will be spawned from imagining what it would be like to be The Weeknd or someone of a similar ilk. Although being a panda would be pretty cool, too. They seem so content.
What did you do on your last birthday?
I took the day off work, and quickly realized I was 5 years closer to 30!
What part of the writing process do you dread?
The editing process after a first draft because that's when you discover, after weeks of basking in your own literary greatness, that most of what you’ve written isn’t very good.
Do you ever suffer from writer’s block? If so, what do you do about it?
Luckily, I haven’t. I’m fortunate that I already have a full-time writing job that requires a certain word limit each day so I’d say I’ve become accustomed to writing under pressure.

Seven Days with You is a coming-of-age love story that anyone who has ever been young and in love will relate to.Admittedly, it’s also a story that I suppose reviewers might call a tearjerker, but I like to see it as one that proves love is the most important emotion anyone can have in a world that can often be unforgiving.
