Little Dancer & Princess Brat Blog Tour + Giveaway

Little Dancer by Brianne Hale

Twenty-year-old dancer Abby Williams has only ever felt truly herself while she’s onstage. It’s the one place she gets the firm direction and focused attention she craves to keep her whimsical thoughts in order. Offstage she feels out of place, forced to give up her girlish treasures and bombarded at every turn with adult responsibilities. But one missed dance cue in front of the intimidating theater director could take all this away.
Summoned to Rufus Kingsolver’s office, Abby is terrified the darkly handsome, commanding man is about to end her dream. But Rufus has other ideas. He wants to be her Dom. He wants her to call him Daddy.
Abby is shocked, but the spark of curiosity and taboo desire have her wanting more. Under Rufus’s firm hand, they explore the erotic depths of their unconventional, yet beautiful, relationship. Abby is falling deeper in love with Rufus and the Little/Dom lifestyle, but it’s not long before she comes face-to-face with her darkest fear—judgment from the outside world.
Daddy knows best, but what if, this once, he can’t protect her?

Princess Brat by Brianne Hale

When Father’s away, with Daddy Dom she’ll play
Throwing tantrums may be childish behavior, but it’s the only way Adrienne Westley feels she can be heard. In the middle of a tabloid scandal, her father cares more about his career than the threats to his mouthy daughter. So when bodyguard Dieter Vanderbroeck enters her home, she’s shocked by his dominant presence.
Try as she might to defy him, Dieter doesn’t give in to her bratty attitude. Instead, he challenges it with a commanding voice and a firm hand. His authoritative tone calls to a part of Adrienne that she’s long kept hidden—and as Dieter begins to unravel her submissive nature, it becomes harder and harder to keep things professional.
Adrienne’s about to find out just where bratty little girls go: over Daddy’s knee. Because he no longer wants to be just her bodyguard—he wants to be her Daddy Dom.

  1. What inspired you to write this story?

I had never written a contemporary romance before and I was busy working on historical projects. But when I stumbled across the Daddy Dom/little girl dynamic, something just clicked. I’m pretty girly myself, as well as super independent and driven, and I wanted to explore what that sort of relationship would look like – a submissive, girly-girl being empowered by a kinky, subversive relationship. So sexy, and so fun!

  1. Where do you like to write at?

I am lucky that I have a dedicated room for my writing in our two-bedroom flat. There’s a cork board for my ideas and schedule and lots of writing how-tos, dictionaries and quotation books to hand.

  1. Do you have a favorite beverage or snack you have while writing?

English breakfast tea! I drink it by the boatload all morning, and then switch to coffee after lunch. I try not to eat while I’m writing, but some evenings I may have some crisps and a glass of red wine as a very special treat.

  1. Have you had any writer's block while writing?

Oh god all the time! I actually answered this question on Goodreads recently so I’ll put it here. I have two writer's block strategies: a non-deadline strategy and an oh-crap-I-have-a-deadline strategy.

The non-deadline strategy is for when you open your WIP and you just aren't feeling the spark but you want to get words down on a page because this is your precious writing time. My initial go-to is switching to writing scenes in bullet point. If even that makes me want to ram a pen in my eye, I try another project-related task like writing the synopsis, or working on another project completely. It's never to early to think about your next book!

The oh-crap-I-have-a-deadline solution, for when you HAVE to work on a project, is what I like to call Write or Die (of boredom). Close down everything on your computer except your WIP. Turn your phone onto flight mode. Set a timer to forty-five minute blocks. And then just sit there. You're not allowed to do anything except sit in silence looking at your page, or work. If you dislike boredom as much as I do, this will have you writing in minutes!

  1. Do you have anything upcoming

Yes I do and I’m so excited about it! It’s called SOFT LIMITS and it’s out this October. It’s another Daddy Dom/little girl book, with more dark, gothicky tones than my first two stories. Set in Oxford and Paris, it’s about a grad student, Evie Bell, who takes on writing the biography of Frederic d’Estang, a French Canadian theater performer famous for playing gothic heroes. Attraction sparks and they find themselves pushing each others limits in ways that neither thought possible.
