Killer Music Book Tour

Killer Music by Tammy L. Grace

Killer Music: A Cooper Harrington Detective Novel Cozy Mystery 1st in Series Publisher: Lone Mountain Press (April 7, 2015) Paperback: 212 pages ISBN-13: 978-0991243464 E-Book ASIN: B00V0V4HP2
When private detective Cooper “Coop” Harrington meets record label mogul Grayson Taylor at a swank gathering of country music artists and politicians he never imagines he’ll be investigating his brutal murder less than twenty-four hours later.
The suspects are plentiful. More than a handful of people could have wanted him dead. Retained by Taylor’s widow, Coop works alongside his best friend and Chief of Detectives, Ben Mason. The investigation leads Coop and Ben to visit the luxurious mansions of recording industry magnates, navigate the murky undercurrents of the political world, and probe complicated family matters. Scandalous indiscretions, secrets, and hints of corruption swirl in the midst of their pursuit of the killer.
Coop’s faithful friend and assistant, Annabelle and his loyal golden retriever, Gus, both lend a hand during the investigation. Even his Aunt Camille mines the local gossip mill to unearth potential killers with motive. Yet the case seems hopeless until a crucial piece of evidence emerges that sends Coop and Ben on a race to catch the killer before someone else dies.

  1. What Inspired you to write Killer Music?    I’ve always been a mystery lover and enjoy the suspense, so I always knew I wanted to write a mystery.  I was inspired to create the private detective character, Cooper “Coop” Harrington when I took a trip to Nashville a few years ago.  I spent about a week there as a tourist and came up with the storyline while sightseeing.  I was visiting a gorgeous old mansion and discovered the perfect setting for a murder.

2.) Do you have a favorite character if so why are they your favorite?   I write a women’s fiction series, which features a different main character in each and I like all of them.  They feel like old friends.  If I’m forced to pick a favorite, it would be Coop from my mystery series.  He’s got some quirks and is sarcastic, so he’s fun.  In each book, the reader learns a little more about Coop’s backstory, but the main focus of the story is Coop’s current case and the steps he takes to solve it.  He’s unique and unlike any other private detective I’ve ever read.  He’s a guy I could see myself having for a friend.

3.) Do you ever get writer's block if so how do you overcome it?  I don’t get it often, but if I do get stuck usually another activity helps me.  Taking a walk, watching a movie, going somewhere, or getting away from the manuscript are keys for me.  Stepping away for a bit seems to allow my brain to come up with what I needed, as opposed to sitting at the computer and trying to force things.

4.) What is your favorite drink to drink while writing? I like tea and usually have a chai tea latte in the mornings while I write.  As it gets warmer, I drink more iced tea drinks and my current favorite treat is a half lemonade and half green tea drink I discovered by Steaz.

5.) We're do you like to write at? I outline and come up with ideas almost anywhere, so I always have a notebook with me.  When it comes to the actual writing, I write in my home office.

6.) Shorthand,Longhanded, Computer or Type writer? I write the manuscript on my computer and do the outline and notes in longhand and also on a board with post-it notes that I keep on the wall in my office.

7.) A random fact about you? I always wanted to be a forensic scientist, long before it was cool.

8.) Who is your favorite author and which book was your favorite that they wrote? It’s so hard to pick a favorite, so I’ll tell you one of my favorites.  I devour anything David Baldacci writes and my favorite series of his was the Camel Club.

9.) Any inspection for upcoming new authors? My advice for upcoming new authors would be to write often, as in five days a week, if your schedule allows.  I highly recommend finding a writing conference and attending before you choose your publishing path.

10.) Do you have any new projects coming up and if so can you tell us about it? I’m releasing the fifth book in my Hometown Harbor Series, Finally Home, on June 20th.  I’ll be taking a month or two off and then have plans for a new Cooper Harrington Detective Novel.
