About the Book:

Lacy Marie Crocker’s whimsical pet couture has gained a following in New Orleans’s cozy Garden District, and word of mouth has traveled all the way to her favorite fashion designer, Annie Lane. Lacy’s thrilled when Annie schedules a private session at her home to discuss a companion line for her evening wear, but when Lacy arrives for the appointment, she enters the kitchen to two mewling Siamese cats–and one very dead Annie.

Lacy takes the kittens home to care for them until they can be properly claimed by Annie’s family or friends, but after a busy day of work, she returns home to find them missing. And when Lacy learns the cats are set to inherit Annie’s fortune, she begins to wonder if the killer was after the kittens all along. Now Lacy will stop at nothing to save the Siamese and find justice for Annie–if the killer doesn’t sink his claws into her first.

Luckily, Lacy has the help of handsome NOLA PD homicide detective Jack Oliver to help her catch the cat-napper before its too late in Cat Got Your Cash, the endearing second Kitty Couture mystery from Julie Chase.

Praise:

Come for the felines and fashion, stay for the fun and flirtations.

Holy Moly, this book blew the first book, Cat Got Your Diamonds, away, and I LOVED the first book!

Interview:

1.) What inspired you to write this book?
One of my mysteries, Murder Comes Ashore, was nominated for a readers’ choice award by an online magazine. The event was being held in New Orleans, and they invited me to come. So, I did. (spoiler: I WON that award!) While I was in town, I made a plan to see as much of the city as possible because I didn’t think I’d ever get back there. I walked miles through the French Quarter, along the river, through museums and shops, took a steamboat ride and a Segway tour, learning, researching and falling madly in love with the city. Then, I climbed aboard a stately green street car and wobbled down a few miles of clickety tracks into another world. The Garden District. I knew immediately I had to write about it. Lacy’s story began to form in my head before I’d made it past Commander’s Palace. By the time my feet hit Magazine Street the details were falling into place. I grabbed a table at an outdoor café and began to make notes on the napkins.

2.) Which character do you feel more connected to?
Lacy. I feel as if I’ve known her all my life and that if I walk down Magazine Street one more time, Furry Godmother will pop up at my side. Lacy has become a part of me, and I hope I will get the chance to write her stories for a long time to come.

3.) If you could take any character to dinner who would it be?
Lacy. All day. She is one of my very favorite characters. I love her spunk and intellect as much as her wit and humor. I wish she was real because I already think of her as one of my closest friends. Of course, if I had the chance to lunch with Lacy, I hope she’d invite Scarlet, Imogene and her mother. I wouldn’t turn Jack or Chase away either *wink*

4.) What was your favorite part of writing this story?
The research! I am officially in love with New Orleans, and I will go back as many times as necessary to get the details right. I have so much fun walking the streets were Lacy and her crew live and play. It’s an absolutely enchanting town with endless stories of rich and dynamic history. And the food is mind blowing. I gain five pounds every time I visit, despite the miles of walking. If you haven’t been to New Orleans lately, I hope you’ll consider the trip, and if you need any tips or advice on making the most of your time, let me know!

5.) Do you have anything new coming up? I do! You will see two more cozy mysteries from me in 2017. First, Cat Got Your Secrets, book three in this series, arrives in September, then my very first Christmas-themed cozy will release in October. That book is titled The Twelve Slays of Christmas and is set on a Christmas tree farm in fictitious Mistletoe, Maine. I am writing that series as Jacqueline Frost. Additionally, I’ve begun writing romantic suspense for Harlequin’s Intrigue line and my first two of those books release in January and February 2018. Those books are written under my real name: Julie Anne Lindsey : )
